Use stiff cardboard and cut out a snowman shape. Paint it white and decorate the snowman with a hat tipped to the side and a scarf.
Depending on the amount of front yard space that you have , you could put Santa and some reindeer near the front of the house.
Then scatter brightly colored wrapped gifts over the yard. Off course the gifts will be empty wrapped boxes.
Make sure that lights adorn and guide the way to your front door. Get a small computer connection that will make the lights dance in peculiar ways.
Do not forget garland and candycane. They must go somewhere. Place extra lighting around steps to make them safer.
By now your front yard looks very festive. However, a word must now be said about safety. No one want any injuries or accidents over the christmas holidays.
Only use lights that specify they are for outdoor use. This could be especially dangerous as it generally rains and snows at this time of year.
Your christmas lights have been away for a year. Check for loose or exposed wires. Sockets that may heat up too fast. Watch those extension cords.
