AMSTERDAM , The Netherlands, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Netherlands commemorated the victims of the MH17 flight disaster in eastern Ukraine with a national remembrance ceremony in Amsterdam on Monday.


The flags of the affected countries blew at half-mast before the Rai conference center in Amsterdam, under a clear blue sky. The look on the faces of the attendees didn't show sunshine, but deep grief. They lost their loved ones during the Malaysia Airlines crash on July 17. All 298 passengers died, 196 of them were Dutch.


Around 1 ,600 relatives of the MH17 flight disaster victims attended the remembrance ceremony. To avoid media attention they entered the building from a different entrance than the officials, who were awaited by a lot of media from the Netherlands and abroad.
